COVID-19 cases are again on the rise in this province due to stupidity and a lack of care by people who would rather party than think of other people. This is another example of how people, when acting as a group, are generally stupid. It’s definitely disappointing but not surprising anymore.
An employee of a restaurant just five minutes away from where my parents live test positive this week. My parents did not and would not visit this restaurant but that’s of little solace. This employee might have had interactions in the community, a visit to a corner store or a grocery store, where they had contacts with people. It doesn’t take a genius to see how these things can quickly get out of hand.
This latest round of data and news from the community just underlines how important it is for all of us in this province to remain smart about the things we do. Because people in society are generally morons, if they are given an inch, they will take a mile, which is what happened recently. We need to stay socially distanced, wash our hands, and wear a mask if we can’t keep our distance. I can’t believe this also needs to be said but people should not be gathering in large groups to party.
I feel like we were probably better off in April when things were much more stringent and regulated. Well, as with many things these days, it seems like the idiots of society are about to ruin everything for the rest of us.
