ARRGGHHH

So tomorrow, I have to call Telus to cancel my parents’ Internet service because they’re charging me and an arm and a leg for it. They’ll transfer me to loyalty and retention and then try to keep as a customer by giving me a discount for six months. I’ll probably agree and then six months later, we’ll do this all again.

At some point, and maybe it’s tomorrow, I’ll just leave them for good.

HOT

Ok, let me start off by saying I’m not complaining about the sunny and warm weather. I was hoping for and dreaming about this kind of weather in doldrums of October and beyond. I will, however, point out that my bedroom reached a high of 28 degrees Celsius today and it’s still 25 as I’m about to head off to bed. So yeah, I’m enjoying this weather but I may find it difficult to sleep tonight.

NEW DESK THOUGHTS

So I moved to a new desk last week. I’ve been there now three days. I miss my old window seat. One thing I didn’t realize about my new seat is how isolated it is. I don’t have anyone to my left nor my right. There are two desks behind me but they’re unoccupied. I use one of them as extra storage space for my messenger bag.

Do I like having no one else around me? I kinda do actually. It’s somewhat quiet and it makes it easier for me to work. I hope no one moves into the desks behind me.

DELIVERED

This afternoon I marched down to the mailroom to find out when they’d be sending me an e-mail to tell me I could pick up my package. One of the mailroom dudes asked me when my package was delivered. I said yesterday morning. He seemed surprised that I hadn’t gotten the e-mail yet. I gave him my name and he went looking for my tablet. A minute later he came back with my package. He said that my package must have not processed properly and they forgot to send me an e-mail. Yeah thanks buddy.

Anyways, I now have my new tablet and I’m pretty happy with it so far.

PEEVED

Well, my new tablet was indeed delivered to the studio mailroom today but I didn’t get it. The mailroom processes all the packages that get delivered to the studio itself and also the employees. Employees are not supposed to go to the mailroom looking for their packages unless they get an e-mail stating their package is ready for pickup. It used to be that if a package got delivered that day, you would get an e-mail that day. For some reason now, most likely due to volume, the mailroom now regularly will hold a package for 24 to 72 hours until they send out the e-mail. Sometimes the e-mail won’t even come.

This long delay totally defeats the purpose of delivering packages to work. It used to be that you didn’t want to a notice card left at your home since you’re at work and not there to receive the package. Instead, you’d get your packages delivered to work and you’d get them the same day. With the multi-day delays, it’s actually now faster or just as fast to get your stuff delivered to your home, even if you have to go pick up your package at the post office the next day or after you get home from work.

I’m hoping the mailroom will release my tablet to me tomorrow but there’s no guarantee of that.

TABLET

I bought a new tablet on the weekend. It’s the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and that’s a rather long model name.

I previously used another 10 inch Android tablet extensively, the Nexus 10, before it’s battery died out. It was awesome to use in bed, to stream movies when I was washing the dishes, look up recipes as I cooked, while I was on the toilet, and while traveling on the plane and in hotels. Once the battery gave out, it became pretty much useless.

Since then, I’ve been using my phone as a replacement for those situations but I often missed having a large screen. It makes reading easier and movies and TV shows just look better. I’m not sure why it took me so long to get a replacement but most Android tablets aren’t that great. A lot of them have really poor screen resolutions and I wanted one that at least had 1080. The decent ones, for the most part, are really expensive too.

This weekend, I randomly did some research and found the Tab A 10.1 was now less than $275 on Amazon. On the Samsung site and other retailers, the list price is still at $399, so this was a great deal. I ordered it Sunday afternoon and it’s supposedly going to be delivered Monday!

Well, I look forward again to pooping and watching big screen entertainment at the same time!

NO POOPS

I am happy to report that consuming a slice of Saskatoon berry pie last night did not result in early morning intestinal distress, nor did it end with violent bowel movements. I have confidence in finishing the rest of that pie!

PIE

I had another slice of Saskatoon berry pie tonight. So far, so good. My stomach is feeling ok at this point. We’ll see what happens when I go to sleep tonight. Will it lead to another explosive early morning? I will report back tomorrow.

RUNNY

Last evening, I had a slice of Saskatoon berry pie. I bought it from Safeway. It was delicious but I wound up waking up in the middle of the night with terrible stomach pains. I, of course, had to go poop shortly afterwards. It was not pleasant.

I’m afraid the pie made me poop but it was so delicious. Should I risk another slice tomorrow? I think I will. Let’s hope I don’t poop the next one out so soon.
